miteinanderbeten – city-wide prayer initiative

On October 3, 2020, miteinanderbeten (German: praying together) launched. This is a prayer initiative intended to create a network of prayer in Halle and its surroundings. Launched by Gemeinsam für Halle, the initiative is supported by various Halle churches and Christians in the city. And we are also among them!

What is the purpose of miteinanderbeten?

We believe that prayer is the foundation for real change in our city. Let us prepare the ground for God’s work to permeate all areas of the city and society. We want to start something new, combine existing prayer initiatives, worship together and come into the visible as Christians in this city.

We also want to become visible through the shared miteinanderbeten logo. You can, for example, give a miteinanderbeten postcard with a few nice, personal lines to someone in your neighbourhood and offer to pray for them. If you hand over another blank postcard, the person can write their prayer request on it. They can return the card to you or, more anonymously, put it in a letterbox with a miteinanderbeten sticker. In time, the small colourful cross will pop up all over the city and people will become aware that there are Christians who care and who pray, and that there’s a God who answers prayer.

If you want to watch the broadcast of the kick-off event, you can do so on the YouTube channel of miteinanderbeten (in German).

There is also a miteinanderbeten video for children exploring what prayer is all about.

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city […]. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
